Margot Robbie’s face (and body and hair) is creepily perfect: not so different from a life-size Barbie doll. She owns it in the beauty space—thanks in large part to genetics—and she’s been nailing it sartorially, too. Robbie is consistently well dressed on and off the red carpet, so in honor of her much awaited The Legend of Tarzan release, we rounded up our top five favorite looks from the actress.
At the 88th annual Academy Awards in 2016, she coordinated with Oscar itself with a slinky gold Tom Ford gown. The plunging neckline, structured shoulder, and long sleeves gave us power-’80s vibes in the best way possible.
The year prior, also at the Oscars, Robbie wore an elegantly draped Saint Laurent gown (above) with similarly long sleeves and a plunging neckline. This time, however, she accessorized her décolletage with a vintage Van Cleef & Arpels tassel necklace.
At Givenchy’s spring 2016 show in New York, she reminded us just how great it looks to wear white after Labor Day. Fashion rules are archaic, to be honest.
Another cool fashion moment went down at the recent Los Angeles premiere ofThe Legend of Tarzan, when she showed up in a cheongsam-inspired Gucci dress from the fall 2016 runway. Between the embroidery and the fur-trimmed sleeves there’s a lot going on, so kudos to the actress for her simple and chic styling.
In 2014, when The Wolf of Wall Street gave her a boost to the Hollywood A-list, she showed up to the Oscars with dark hair (for her role in Z for Zachariah) in a Saint Laurent gown. There’s a sense of old-Hollywood beauty about the look, with the bow in the back and retro curls, but the dark lip gave her an edge.
Robbie is one of the newer players on the best-dressed lists, but we think she’ll be around for a while.
